Dr Edel Doorley is from the Midlands and graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2006. Before working in General Practice, she completed speciality training in Acute Medicine (adult and paediatrics). She is a member of the College of Emergency Medicine.

Upon returning to Ireland she completed training in Palliatative medicine and Elderly Medicine, in which she has a specialist interest. Her training has provided her with an understanding of medicinal issues specific to this time in life, in particular memory concerns.

Dr Doorley also has a keen interest in Paediatrics and Women’s Health (including antenatal care and menopause care). She is a smear taker and inserts some contraceptive devices.

Dr Doorley enjoys not only practicing medicine but also education. She is a tutor for GP training and has completed a Masters in Clinical Education. She has also completed a Diploma in Musculoskeletal medicine.

When not working she enjoys mountain climbing and has recently trekked to Base Camp Everest.
